The Dutchman has been heavily linked with the vacancy at the Etihad Stadium but has dismissed the possibility of the Blues taking over.
“I’m not going to be at the club,” van der Veen said in an interview with The Times.
“It is an unbelievable place and the best thing for the club is to go there.
I hope that we will get it done.
I’ve never seen this sort of team and I never will again.”
Van der Vien said he was not looking for a permanent move, but would not rule out his future at the Blues.
“There’s no chance of me leaving Manchester United,” he said.
“They’re my best friends.
They’re my team.
They have a good relationship and I’m happy to stay there.”
Van den Veen, who has been the Netherlands’ coach since 2011, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford by Jose Mourinho.
